Requirements for making an appointment: 
Please check the relevant information on the LU Career Zone before making an appointment with the career counselor. 

• Does it involve application skills? Then first adjust your CV, LinkedIn profile, cover letter based on this information before scheduling your appointment.
• No idea where to start your career orientation? Check out the Career Planning roadmap first before your session with the career counsellor. This will provide you with a lot of relevant information in advance.

Booking an appointment
Use the online booking form below. In this form you can indicate which topic you would like to discuss:

• Study (re)choice (60 min) (a.o. doubts about your study choice, quitting your study and what then, doing a 2nd study? Planning a gap year.)
• Master choice (45 min) (a.o. advice on choosing your master, a possible 2nd master, doing something else after the bachelor)
• (Study) career orientation (45 min) (How to best plan your (study) career? How do I find out what suits me? How do I find a job? What do I have to offer an employer? Where do I find vacancies?)
• Job application skills (30 min)(a.o. how to improve my CV, LinkedIn profile, cover letter, practice job interview).
• Voluntary work (45 min) (a.o. Which voluntary work suits me? Where do I find vacancies?)

As a student (or alummus/alumna up to 1 year after graduation) of the Faculty of Social Sciences, you can participate in workshops and events offered by the Career Service FSW and also workshops offered by the central Career Services and the Career Services of other faculties.

If you still have questions afterwards, you can ask them during a CV / LinkedIn profile check at the Career Service FSW.

CV and LinkedIn profile check
This CV / LinkedIn profile check can be done in the following ways:

• At the Student Plaza FSW

You can have your CV/LinkedIn profile checked twice a month at the Student Plaza FSW (Pieter de la Court building, Leiden), on: Monday: 3:00-4:00 p.m. (every other week)

Make an appointment using the online appointment form.
(Under Category, select: On location/on campus Social sciences Leiden; and under Appointment type: Social Sciences Student Plaza CV/LinkedIn check (15 min) and select a Staff member/date).

Bring your CV/laptop with you to your appointment!

• During Career Events

During larger career events there is always an opportunity to have your CV or Linkedin profile checked. 
Keep an eye on the course calendar for this!

• Appointment with study/career advisor

You can, after using the above tips, have your CV and LinkedIn profile, as well as your cover letter checked by one of the FSW Career Service's study and career advisors. Make an appointment via the online appointment booking form.

Do you have a question about the services (workshops or individual coaching) offered by the Career Service FSW? Or are you looking for specific career information? Ask your question to the staff at the Student Plaza. They will be happy to help you.
Do you have a more elaborate (study choice/career) question? Please make an appointment with one of the career counsellors via the online booking form.

The Student Plaza is open Monday to Friday from 10.00-14.00 hrs.
